Professor Mankada T.Abdul Azeez Moulavi(July 15,1931-August 14,2007) was a Muslim Religious leader and one of the most famous Arabic and Islamic Scholar and writer of kerala .he is former president of Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen and was IUML(Indian Union Muslim League) Mankada  Panchayath president .He was the cheif editor and General Manager  of Chandrika daily. Moulavi has also served as the State Vice president of Muslim Educational Society.-
Early life
Mankada Azeez Moulavi was born at Mankada Thayyil family  in  july 15,1931 as the son of Thayyil Kammali Musliar who was Islamic Scholar in Mankada and Kunhathumma.He was the 7th among 10 children of his parents.

Education
He had his primary education in Karkidakam L.P School and Higher Elemantary Education in Mankada Higher Elemanatary School.He passed E.S.L.C. Examination in the year 1941,Where in English was introduced as a compulsory subject for the first time by the Madras Government.There after he commenced his religious studies in Darussalam Madrassa at Tirurangadi Till the year 1948.He continued his studies in the Rouzthul Uloom Arabic college,then functioning at Manjeri and afterwards at Feroke, in the year 1949.He passed Afzal-Al-Ulema public examination in 1st class in the year 1953.he jointed as Arabic Tutor in the same Arabic college and subsequently in the Oriental Residential School-Now Farook High School and continued there till 1957.
During 1957,he was appointed as Arabic Teacher in Mankada High School.On Promoting to 1st grade Arabic Teacher transferred to Perinthalmanna High School.
During the period from 1957 to 1967, not content with Afzal-Ul-Ulema Degree, the further pursued his studies as a private candidate and passed matriculation, Pre-Degree and B.A.  Degree from Madras University. Doubtless, he was a self made individual.it is to his credit that without attending either school or colleges and without being a regular student, he could successfully  attain a first class M.A. Degree. It is to be remembered that in those days, no coaching centres or any parallel colleges was existent, as of today. His determination along was his guide.
Personal life
Moulavi  had Married Fathima Zuhra and he had 7 children- Musthafa Kamal, Laila Beegum, Fathima Zeenath, Jamal Muhiyudheen, Aysha Beevi, Bushra, Mahboob Rahman.
Career
After securing M.A. Degree, in the year 1967, he was appointed as a lecturer in Calicut Govt. Arts and Science college.In the year 1968, after resigning from Govt. Service, he opted for service in the M.E.S.(Muslim Educational Society) and jointed as lecturer in Ponnani M.E.S. College.Thereafter he was transferred to Mampad M.E.S. College as professor in 1972,worked as professor for 10 years and as Principal of Mampad M.E.S. College for 5 years.He retired as Principal of M.E.S. Mampad College in March 1987.Astonishingly he occupied theposition of the 1st grade college of 5 years; surely a unique and envious achievement in ones academic career, as of Azeez Moulavi. He had made his own markable points in every institution he served .In Mampad M.E.S. College it was that arranging of 3 international seminars  when he was principal at M.E.S Mampad College.

In 1987, he was offered the post of visiting Professor of the chair of Islamic in Calicut University, simultaneously, working as General Manager and Chief Editor of  ‘’Chandrika Daily’’

 In the year 1989, he was selected and appointed as the Principal of ‘Indian Islahi School,’ Al –Ain, U.A.E, remained there for 2 years and returned to his Native place Mankada. On returning back from U.A.E, he was again appointed as the General Manager and Chief Editor in ‘’Chadrika’’, following the foot steps of Former chief editor  (Late) C.H Mohammed Koya Sahib.

After his leaving ‘’Chandrika’’ he dedicated and utilized his remaining life for the active supervision of Mankada orphanage. Also did his best in educating his natives, By organizing an English Medium Institution in Mankada ‘’Al Ameen Senior Secondary School’’.now run under Mankada Anadhashala Sangham

He was a Religious Leader of Mankada. He had tried his best to annihilate superstitions and bid-at. He had his last days of life on the construction of spacious and conveinient Mosque in Mankada Town ‘’Madeena Masjid’’. By his earnest efforts the construction was completed within the record time of six months.

 Moulavi had Dedicated his life on serving in Many Positions -Calicut University Expert Committee for Arabic Textbook faculty for Languages Member, Pre-Degree board Member, Calicut university Senate Member, Minority Commision Member, Kerala Arabic Teachers federation founded Secratary, M.E.S (Muslim Educational Society) State vice president, M.E.S Central executive committe member, M.E.S Advisor, M.E.S Central collegiate committee chairman,  IUML(Indian Union Muslim League) Mankada Panchayath president, State Councillor, President of Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen,President of Mankada Orphanage, Mankada orphanage Teachers training institute chairman, Mankada Mahallu Khazi

Azeez Moulavi died on August 12 2007, he was admitted to a private hospital due to Lungs Cancer. He body was buried the Mankada Juma Masjid on 13 August 2007.
